HELLO!
My name is Agnes, and I am the founder and designer of Agnes Nordenholz.
Born and raised in Tübingen, Germany, I moved to Vienna to train as a tailor and study fashion design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Marc Bohan, Helmut Lang, and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
After 14 years as co-founder and designer of the label Hartmann Nordenholz, I moved to Berlin to "return to my roots" and continue my work under the name AGNES NORDENHOLZ. One of my great-grandfathers was born in Berlin. He worked as a merchant in the wool trade for one of the largest European wool companies. Another was a tanner and later a leather goods dealer. My mother and grandmother always talked about them a lot, and I loved imagining their lives and work.
It is only natural that my favorite materials are wool, leather and lambskin, and that the sheep is the focus of my attention: for centuries it has provided the most natural and perfect materials and is the best choice for clothing that has a minimal impact on the environment.
